"A man and woman, fat, elderly, and grotesque, play backgammon, the surface of a round table and the backgammon board forming the base of the design. The woman (right), a harridan, frantic with rage, leans towards the man clutching his wig. Two candlesticks are overturned, the guttering candles broken.
