She wears a hat and cloak, a soldier's tunic, a short tattered skirt, and fragments of boot or gaiter, and has a large pouch slung from the waist. Another yokel advances behind the first, both are eagerly intent. A dog stands beside them. The man, who is thin and rapacious, stands behind his pegs holding out one of a bundle of sticks to the second customer.
