Description:
Reporting on papal support for Spain against the Darien colony, Don Antonio Ubilla's representation against negotiations in Loo concerning the Spanish succession, and the king's health. The letter of Aug 3/13 is partially printed in Manon's Spain under Charles the Second, 1840, p. 145. A copy of Ubilla's representation, in Spanish, with two copies in French, is enclosed in the letter of Aug 17/27 and Stanhope's reply of Aug 24 concerning the imprisoning of an Irish friar, chaplain to the Spanish ambassador to England.
