December 1827[!] A stickpin with medallion portrait of Goethe is affixed; both poems in a leather case with gilt lettering: Greeting to Thomas Carlyle from Goethe 1828. With: Another greeting card with poem: Wenn Phoebus Rosse sich zu schnell. On card ; 13 x 9 cm., within gold leaf border. Autograph poem, signed, with heading: Den lieben treuen Edinburger Gatten zum Neuenjahre 1828. Printed in Weimar Ausgabe with heading: An Frau Clementine von Mandelsloh, with date Weimar, am kürzesten Tage 1827.

Autograph quotation, signed. Clearly a leaf from an autograph album, with gilt edge. On January 7 of the same year, Goethe applies the quotation to himself in a letter to Von Trebra: "Ich habe keine weitere Ambition, als dass man zu mir sagen möge: You are ..."

Madame Kühne-Harkort was a singer who appeared in concert and oratorio about 1836 and 1838. She is referred to as "Dilettante und echte Künstlerin" Cf. Autograph ms. [6] p. 34 x 27 cm. Vocal score with pianoforte accompaniment. At head of p. 1, in Hans Bülow's hand: Mscrpt. v. Liszt, and Bülow's endorsement, dated 1892 to Martin Krause. Original draft of the song in the later version. The words are not completely filled in, one measure is cancelled. Published, together with the first version, in Liszt's Musikalische Werke, hrsg. von der Franz Liszt-Stiftung, VII. Einstimmige Lieder und Gesänge, Bd. 2, with full notes as to editions and manuscripts.
