- "A London justice of peace seated behind a table in his office, his hands clasped. On his right and left are three men holding their hats and canes, who may be either justices or visitors. At the end of the table (left), sits the justice's clerk writing with his left hand. On the wall over the presiding justice's head is a placard, "Robbery, Murder ...
