In a rustic bedroom, a pretty, buxom young woman kneels before an open chest in which is hidden a handsome young soldier. As she holds open the lid of the trunk the two kiss, unaware that an ugly old man glares at them through a open, casement window and unaware that she has upset the full chamber pot at her feet. Beside the trunk are a hat filled with fruit, a bottle of eau de vie, and a mouse in a trap

A "line and dot" series of caricatures featuring scenes with stick figures (or "pin men"), both male and female, engaged in some form of public violence, arranged in two rows, each grouping individually titled. In the first row the designs are titled: "You lie, sir!", "Proceeding to blows", "Friends ending the dispute" and then a larger group of figures with the title "Dispute at cards: ending in a round game". In the second row: "In love I perceive", "Prick'd to the heart. She's gone, she's gone!", "Met to part no more", "O! Thou false wretch", "O, Sophia fairest of women", "How you teaze me Charles" and "I'll seek revenge", and a pair of designs labeled above "The effects of jealousy" and on the left "Now for the fatal blow" and "Keep your distance fellow."

Peter Meghen (d. 1537), of 's-Hertogenbosch in Brabant; scribe who copied works for several English clients, including Christopher Urswick and John Colet, and served as a courier for Erasmus and Sir Thomas More. Meghen's other patrons included Cardinal Wolsey, and he became Writer of the King's Books in the 1520s and served until his death in 1537. His nickname, "Cyclops," referred to his having only one eye., In Latin., In a humanistic script., Original foliation in red, from i to clii, skips from lxxix to c., Rubrics and foliation in red. Historiated initial and full-page border on ff 1v.; seven large and twenty-two small illuminated initials, all in a Northern Netherlandish style ("Masters of the Dark Eyes")., Colophon (ff. 142v) in red states that the manuscript was written for Christopher Urswick by "Petrus Meghen monoculus.", Spine label: Vrsyke de sacra: euch:.
