The volume also includes recipes for cooking delicacies and desserts such as "sorbete de pistache"; "the Duchess of Cleveland's sillybub"; "the king's sack posset"; and "Devonshire whirlpot." Other items include a medical prescription by Ludwig Kepler for "pulvis cephalicus"; a report by a Paduan doctor on the beneficial properties of coffee; and three pen and wash drawings of cassolettes.

This volume also includes, in a variety of hands, "Short Collections on natural history," calculations for the "Dimensions of England," a multiplication table and conversion table for beer and ale, puzzles, a collection of recipes for making colored ink titled "Profitable receipts taken out of Mathers Yong mans companion," a Latin dialogue between "Puer" and "Preceptor" titled "Colloquia Familiaria," and a Latin text with 14 chapters titled "Ars Logica."

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of notes concerning the French nobility. The manuscript begins with genealogical histories of various French noble houses, including those of Lorraine; Savoy; Languedoc; Luxembourg; and Orleans. Other entries in the manuscript include an account of the French royal family; a list of the French nobility; and copies of letters of 1602 from Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne, duc de Bouillon to King Henri IV and from the King to the authorities of the Dauphine about Bouillon. The collection also contains a number of entries in English, including a travel diary recording a journey from Blois to La Rochelle and an essay in English about the Swiss alliance with France. Dos-a-dos appears a list of Biblical kings.
