Emolument Certificates. This certificate of emolument was issued to Kang Se-hwang (pen name: P'yoam) in the 12th month of the 12th year of the King Chŏngjo (1788). However, he actually received the salary the following year. The Board of War issued the salary by royal order although Kang was a civilian official. His title was given as "Ch'ungmu wisa," (brave royal guard), a military position. It is probable that, since Kang was not employed at the time, the government gave him a temporary title in order to provide him a salary. There is no indication of salary class, something usually required in such a document., Manuscript, in an unidentified hand. The original manuscript dated 1788., and 왕명에의해표암강세황에게발급.
