"Britannia leaning against a globe, her limbs severed and lettered wit the names of the colonies: "Virg[inia]; Pennsyl[vania]; New York; New Eng[land]. A ribbon draped across her is lettered "Date Obolum Bellisario", in reference to the fallen Greek general. Behind her lie her shield and her lance, pointing at her heart; beyond are ships at anchor with brooms at their masheads signifying that they are for sale.
