Abstract:
Pitt, looking terrified, stands in a barrel inscribed 'Perquisites of Office'. He is surrounded by dogs who all look up at him. On the left is a dog with the collar 'Greyhound Breed'; he says to Pitt: 'Don’t be alarmed I shall only pretend to growl - keep quiet and I'll bring you through. Next to the greyhound is 'Wy[n]dhaminian or Bull Dog Breed'. To the right of the barrel is 'Fox Breed', 'Norfolk Breed' and one other dog without an inscription on its collar

Abstract:
"Mrs. Clarke stands behind the bar of the House of Commons holding up a flower-pot-shaped vessel (the pan of a commode) inscribed Opposition Stink Box. In her right hand she holds up its lid: Cover of Infamy. From this 'box' issue flames, smoke, and fanged serpents which dart towards and obscure the Royal Arms above the Speaker's chair. The House is seen from the left so that only a corner of the front bench is visible on the Ministerial side of the House, while the Opposition benches with a corner of the gallery above form the greater part of the background (right). Members of the Government hold their noses in disgust while the Opposition listen with avid delight, and the back-benchers wave their hats ecstatically. Only three Ministerialists are characterized: (left to right) Castlereagh, wearing a cocked hat, Canning, Perceval. On the right the four in the front rows to the right of Mrs. Clarke and closest to her are Petty, clasping his hat, Whitbread and Burdett behind him, and (behind Whitbread) Sheridan. Wilberforce (?) stands, waving his hat, Windham is in the second row. The serpents issuing from the 'box' are Calumny, Lies, Ingratitude, Deceit, Revenge, Forgery, Perjury. The commode (left) stands open, cylindrical and ornate, inscribed: Broad Bottom Reservoir. Round it bundles of documents are heaped: Forged Letters & Forged Answers from the Duke; Forged Orders; Forged Appointments; Scheme to destroy the House of Brunswick [see British Museum Satires No. 11234]; Commissions & Appointments for Sale to the best Bidder, Agents to conduct the Sale--Frome, Sanden, Dowler, Kennet, Donnovan, Corri; Love Letters from Mr Waddle [Wardle], Mr Finnerty, Gen Clamering [Clavering], Mr Maltby, Major Hogan; Private Communications from his Excell. The Morrocco Ambassador; Prices of Commissions in the Army, A Clarke Secy; List of Mrs Clarkes Pension[s] £1000 . . . Mrs. Clarke's dress is approximately correct (cf. British Museum Satires No. 11225), but her (white) hat is coloured blue, the length of the veil is exaggerated; her (profile) features are made coarser and bolder, and a patch (signifying disreputability) is added to her cheek."--British Museum online catalogue

Abstract:
"Pitt (caricatured), dressed as Rolla, addresses a group of chieftains (left); the ranks of the Peruvian army with erect spears watch from the background. Below the (printed) title is printed Rolla's patriotic speech from 'Pizarro', II. ii, beginning 'My brave Associates', 'and ... we serve a Monarch whom we love . . .' (see British Museum Satires No. 9436). He stands with both arms outstretched, head turned in profile to the left, pointing rhetorically across the sea to the Spaniards, whom Sheridan (in this speech) equates with French republicans, and who are here represented by the Foxites. The Peruvians wear feathered head-dresses and feather kilts in the manner of Red Indians, except Dundas, who wears tartan and feathered head-dress. Dundas (caricatured) sits on the ground holding bow and shield, and looking with cunning scepticism at Pitt; he is the only one of the ministerial group of five who can be identified, though others may be presumed to be Grenville, Portland, and Windham."--British Museum online catalogue and From the printed British Museum catalogue: "(Description and comment from M. Dorothy George, 'Catalogue of Political and Personal Satires in the British Museum', VII, 1942) The Foxites, who 'fight for power, for plunder and extended rule', and follow 'an Adventurer whom they fear', all wear or carry bonnets-rouges and have tricolour flags, one inscribed 'Libertas'. They are small comic figures headed by Fox, who urges them towards the water. The others (left to right) are Lauderdale with a flag, Derby with a shield, Bedford wearing a jockey cap, Erskine in wig and gown, Norfolk holding his Earl Marshal's staff, Tierney holding pistols (see BMSat 9218, &c), Burdett, and two unidentified figures. For Pizarro see BMSat 9396, &c. The scene is burlesqued and altered from the play, where it takes place in the Temple of the Sun. The patriotic speech of Rolla (cf. BMSat 9436) made the fortune of the play and was reprinted as a broadside or placard in 1803, see BMSat 9397."

Abstract:
"An altered copy of British Museum Satires No. 10389. The two principal figures are substantially the same, but Mrs. Fitzherbert's expression is less subtle; she looks down at her charge with an exulting smile. The feathers in her hair are set in a fillet inscribed 'Ich Dien', her breasts are almost bare, her drapery is more swirling. Her pouch is inscribed 'Amusements for Young Minds', its contents differ, and her book is a 'Missal'. Above them (left) ls inscribed: 'Angels ever bright and fair" Take, Oh Take me to thy Care,"'. The altar is larger and closer to the ascending figures. In place of the Virgin, the Prince of Wales (half length) stands behind it, looking down at the 'Guardian-Angel'. On the altar, which is inscribed 'Sanctum Sanctorum' is an irradiated chalice. The attendant cherubs are (left) Derby, (?) Grey, Grenville; and (right) Norfolk, Burdett, and Windham. Two cherubs have descended from the circle (right) and look fixedly at close range towards the child; they are Fox and Sheridan. The rays are inscribed: 'Bulls', 'Dispensations', 'Indulgences', 'Luxuries', 'Consecrations', 'Cannonizations', 'Remissions', 'Pardons', 'Beatifications', 'Permissions'. Below the ascending pair, in place of the Pavilion, is the roof of Carlton House."--British Museum online catalogue

Abstract:
"John Bull sits full face holding a bowl of soup, between Addington, the cook, and the protesting Windham on the extreme right. On the left Pitt sits in profile to the left before an enormous kitchen fire, over which hangs a giant cauldron; he blows the fire with bellows, saying, 'I dont know how it is - but I manage this Soup business rather awkwardly - I suppose it is from being so much used to the stewing and Broiling line.' Addington, who wears the Speaker's wig with apron and over-sleeves, and holds a long ladle, says: 'Though I say it that made it - you never tasted better soup in your life'. Windham (right) stands in profile to the left his knees flexed, saying, 'O' Mr Bull - Mr Bull - if you have any regard for your Constitution - dont touch it - the Cayen of Jacobinism flavours every spoonful - and the Fire that boil it I consider as a Funeral Pile for all your well wishes - do Johnny take some of my Cheese-parings - they are very wholesome, and easy of Digestion.' John says, his eyes turned towards Addington, his spoon raised to his mouth: 'I don't mind what he says - my Hearty I say it's very good Soup - and a d------d deal better [word erased] than your Gin. I should like a little more bread for all that, and it would be quite as well - if it did not taste so strong of the Ceylon pepper.'"--British Museum online catalogue
