Emolument Certificates. This certificate of emolument was issued to Kang Se-hwang (pen name: P'yoam) in the 12th month of the 12th year of the King Chŏngjo (1788). However, he actually received the salary the following year. The Board of War issued the salary by royal order although Kang was a civilian official. Chronicle of the filial devotion and clean living of the Ŏm Family. This Hangŭl manuscript is a copy of a novel of unknown authorship. Its theme is filial piety and it is set in Song dynasty China. At the end of the ninth chapter there is a brief note, "This book was copied in the year of Musul."
