"Train between Swatow [Shantou] and Chaochowfu [Chao'an]. Shows train arriving at Swatow." A few people are getting off the train in the station and stepping directly onto the train tracks instead of the depot on the other side of the train. The train has an engine, 11 cars, and a caboose.
"(3) This is the cantilever bridge at the head of a long, long ravine, up which the railroad ran to gain altitutde. I imagine on the map this detour must look something like this: (hand diagram) with the further part of the loop hundreds of feet above the nearer - or thousand of feet.
