Description:
A group of students attending the ceremonies of class of Jan. 1923 planting the class tree. (As they are graduating in January, it will be impossible to plant the tree then.) Rear view of group of students and faculty in Chinese and Western dress, some carrying flags, observing tree planting ceremony. Chinese vendor on road in foreground of photograph. and Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive.
Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive., The back of the postcard has a handwritten note in English and contains information about the publisher: "Copyright, C.M.S. Bookshop, Lagos." (Church Missionary Society) There is also a printed caption: "This is a real photograph. Printed in England.", and Weaver bird nests. Approximately twenty-five Weaver bird nests are hanging on the branches of a tree. A body of water and about nine other trees can be seen in the background.

Fenceposts can be seen through the trees., and The back of the postcard has no handwriting. The pathway is lined with trees and decorative grasses., and The back of the postcard has no handwriting on it. Printed at the edge of the correspondence section is "Scheut (Kongo) Eigendom van Propriete de Scheut"
Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive., The postcard was issued by the "Missions Maristes de Nouvelle-Caledonie," a Catholic missions agency. The back of the postcard is blank and contains printed information from the publisher: "Sous-Procure des Missions - 6, Rue de Bagneux, Paris-VIe.", and Une Eglise se dresse aujourd'hui a cet emplacement (Balade). ("A Church stands today at this site (Balade).") A missionary father and a number of other adults stand in front of a stone church on the top of a hill. Ten indigenous children and a man on horseback congregate on the tree-lined road leading to the church.
