- Abstract:
- A young woman under an enormous heart-shaped coiffure. In the topmost section of her hair is a kitchen fireplace with meat roasting on a spit, and a monkey in a fool's cap sitting on the chimney admiring itself in a mirror. On either side of the hair are kitchen implements, poker, tongs and shovel, a mop, broom, etc., and, in the center, a large wheel of cheese infested by mice. Various vegetables are assembled around the cheese, while a dog and cat confront one another below it.

- Verse in lower margin: The taste at present all may see, but none can tell what is to be. Who knows when Fashion's whims are spread, but each may wear this kitchen head. The noddle that so vastly swells, may wear a fools cap hung with bells., "Price one shill."--Lower margin., Sheet trimmed within plate mark., Sheet trimmed with loss of imprint and price. - Abstract:
- "A lady (three-quarter length) in profile to the right. with the enormous coiffure of 1776-7 grotesquely exaggerated. Her hands are in a muff. Her inverted pyramid of hair supports three quasi-circular redoubts surrounded by cannon on which troops are fighting. On each is a flag large out of all proportion to the soldiers. There are also a train of artillery, and a number of tents. All the men in the redoubts are dressed as British soldiers but are firing point-blank at each other; their three flags are decorated respectively with an ape, with two women holding darts of lightning, and with a goose."--British Museum online catalogue and "A companion print to British Museum Satires No. 5335. - "A companion print to BMSat 6874. A number of ladies wearing enormous hats and inflated petticoats as in BMSat 6874, are being, or have been, fitted with the puffed-out gauze cages which made the fashionable silhouette (the 'fortification bosom') project extravagantly at the breast. Some, with breasts exposed, wait to be fitted. A thin lady on the extreme left looks at herself in an oval wall-mirror, while the fitter arranges her dress; another advances, holding a large pair of balloon-like pads. One with an enormous projection beneath her chin is about to leave the room by a door on the extreme right, she looks round with a triumphant smile. All wear hats with enormous brims, some circular, some drooping and bonnet-shaped. A gigantic circular hat, larger than an umbrella, is suspended from the centre of the ceiling. In the foreground a dog, its hind-quarters shaved, and long thick hair on its neck and chest, burlesques the fashion."--British Museum online catalogue
