A courier on horseback blows his horn as he approaches a small building with a sign board dangling from its post "Popularity, The Blown Bladder by W P". A bandaged foot (gouty) resting on a stool is sticking out the door; crutches resting against the side of the hovel. Behind the rider is a cushion with a royal crown, decorates with thistles labeled B-e (for Lord Bute) and M-d (for the Earl of Mansfield).
