She wears a bonnet after the dormeuse pattern, adorned with a wide ribbon, tied in a bow in the front Her floral printed dress is ruffled around the neck and the front of the bodice, with ruffles below the elbow. In the background, a military hat and a sword lie on a chair, togetehr with table with writing materials on it. Above the table hangs a plan depicting General Burgoyne's position against the French and Spanish armies at Villa Vellia Ford in 1762 where Captain Rice distiguished himself in the battle
