"The Mary Elizabeth (Nugent) Marchioness of Buckingham (died 1813) looks from a curtained bed towards her infant which is being shown by an old soldier to her husband, the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, who enters from the right, wearing a ribbon and sword. The soldier has a wooden leg and a patch over one eye; he says, "Deel my saul but he'll be a brave soldier your honor, he's got a noble Truncheon". Buckingham answers, "Thanks! thanks! my brave Serjeant, you shall be Knighted this day". Behind him, and on the extreme right, stand another old soldier with two wooden legs supported on crutches, and a man in a university gown and bands, carrying a jug inscribed 'Dublin University Pitcher'. The soldier says, "Downright robbery, by St Patrick! we'll be soon famished if our broth is to be stole from us in this manner". He looks towards a man in a Chancellor's wig and gown, seated on the extreme left and holding a bowl, who says to a nurse who stands over him : "Poo! Poo! good woman this is not caudle! this is the old Soldiers porridge!"--British Museum online catalogue

"Mrs. Clarke stands just within the House of Commons triumphing over her opponents and victims. She strikes a member (Croker) with a rapier, while holding up in her left hand a letter headed My dear Mrs Clark. She tramples on a military officer who lies prone; a paper under his hand is inscribed Genl [Clav]ering. Her antagonists have dropped their swords, which lie broken on the floor. Her large muff lies beside her with a bundle of Love Letters. Croker tries to escape, exclaiming, By Jasus she'll give us 100 Cuts in 60 thrusts. Perceval rushes off, with a mutilated hand, saying, I am Struck dumb, and lost my thumb! I Percieve all. Another (the Attorney-General) exclaims: Oh! dear! Oh dear! she has cut off my Ear Ex officio. A little man whose nose has been cut off, exclaims: What dreadfull blows--Witness my Nose, my Honeys. In his pocket is a paper: Memorandum for Mr Hague [see British Museum Satires No. 11211]. A tall man (Yorke, see British Museum Satires No. 11535) shouts, raising his arms: Take her into custody--She will be to much for us--send her to York Jail. Shadowy figures watch the encounter. A corner of the gallery is seen, crowded with eager spectators. Two men watch from the lobby (right)."--British Museum online catalogue

"A satire on Thomas Herring, Archbishop of York, and the enthusiastic part he played in raising volunteer troops to resist the Jacobite rising. He is shown dressed partly as a bishop and partly as a military officer his episcopal gown tucked up over a lace-edged military coat and waistcoat beneath, he has lawn sleeves but wears gaiters and a gorget, on his back is a knapsack with his mitre on top. He shoulders a gun from the trigger of which is a ribbon lettered O Lord open thou my Lips & my Mouth shall show forth thy Praise. He says 'My [mitre] My Lands My Gold, Church'. A fish is shown above his lace cocked hat in allusion to his name. Behind him are a group of less keen volunteers, on the left lay men march with armed clergy, one saying 'May [he] Starve with us' another carries a standard (large flag?) a cleric says 'I'm a Canon', another claims 'I’ll be Vicar of Bray still', two clerical soldiers on the right complain one saying 'I've 12 Children but no Lands' the other 'Fight I have but 20£ a Year'."--British Museum online catalogue
