Abstract:
"A man (right) in shirt and breeches is being laced into stays by a shorter man who stands behind him. The taller man is knock-kneed and has some resemblance to the Duke of Grafton. On the ground is a chased goblet to which a label is attached, "Duplicate 5. 5. 0." The valet or stay-maker is dressed in the prevailing macaroni manner."--British Museum online catalogue

Print shows personifications of Europe, Africa, America, and Asia pointing their fingers at a blushing Britannia paying penance for corruption atop a stool of repentence along with Princess Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel; King George IV; Robert Banks Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool; Robert Stewart, 2nd Marquess of Londonderry (Lord Castlereagh); Henry Addington, 1st Viscount Sidmouth; and Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. A crowd of mostly women is gathered under the stool, some with glasses and bowls and "Political caricature on the Royal Divorce: George IV and Caroline sit with the cabinet on a stool, mocked by the four Continents, while Britannia blushes; below a waterfall of Corruption falls to pollute Westminster."--British Museum online catalogue

A tailor and cobbler, both are partially bald, are seated with their backs to roaring fire in the grate of a fireplace. The cobbler is sitting at a table with a glass and tankard in front of him; he is smoking a pipe and blowing the smoke into the tailor's face. The tailor sits slumped forward in a state of evident inebriation and his own pipe lies broken on the floor. On the wall behind them is a picture of a man seated under a tree sketching(?) the rural scene in front of him, a church with a steeple in the distance
