In Latin., Script: written in gothic script (littera textualis)., and Decoration: two miniatures of mediocre quality, one for each saint; the miniature of St. Nicholas shows him in bishop's clothing, holding a staff and a book, and standing next to a tub with two children in it; St. Catharine is depicted as crowned, holding a book and a sword; on the floor behind her is the wheel upon which she was tortured; the antiphons and orations begin with a 2-line initial in gold on an alternating ground of blue with white filigree or red; punctuated with the punctus; hyphenation is in the same ink as the text; rubrics written in red minuscule; upper, lower, and outer borders decorated with blue and gold vines, red vines with blue and red or gold and blue with gold flowers in the inner margin on the recto only.

In Latin., Script: Copied by one hand writing in Gothica Cursiva Formata (Bastarda)., and Decoration: Purplish red rubrics. Yellow highlighting of the majuscules. 1-line versals and 2- or 3-line initials, all in liquid gold on purplish red or blue square background decorated with foliage or flowers in liquid gold. Initials in red, blue, and gold. On f. 1v, there is a rectangular picture, framed in black and gold and treated as an initial 11 lines high, of God the Father with tiara, sitting, one hand on the globe, the other hand blessing rows of Seraphim and Cherubim before him. Elsewhere yellow-colored fleur-de-lys, animals, archers and a giant insects.

All illuminations have been excised and there are few complete sections except for the Penitential Psalms (63r-75v) and the Office of the Dead (82r-112v). These texts are followed by two prayers to Saint Lazarus in Latin (113v- 115r ). Folios 115v-116v contain a personal narrative in French by Sister Collette d'Oisellet of the Hospice of Beaune, the owner of the volume. She describes being miraculously healed from paralysis in 1497 at Autun cathedral through the relics of Saint Lazarus; an annotation records her decision to remain at the Hospice of Beaune to care for the poor. Manuscript on parchment of Book of Hours printed in Paris, Thielman Kerver for Guillaume Eustace, 20 June 1500. The illuminated leaves, from a Book of Hours for the use of Rouen, between 1475 and 1500, were inserted into the printed Book of Hours before the present-day binding was made (ca. 1600).

Rectangular line-fillers decorated with red, blue and gold; 1-line dentelle initials; 2-line foliate initials; 4-5 line historiated initials (artt. 3 and 14); arch-topped miniatures (described above) above 3-4 lines of text, accompanied by 3- or 4-line foliate initials. The pages containing miniatures or historiated initials have full flower and acanthus borders, which may contain additional scenes or grotesques (see artt. 2, 4, 5, 11, 12). The woodcuts are coloured by hand throughout the book. Text pages containing a 2-line foliate initial have outer-margin or inner- and outer-margin borders (the latter on ff. 42 bis r and 64r)., and Binding: Red morocco similar to that of Beinecke MS 662.

Part II (ff. 47-168): Written in elegant late caroline/early gothic bookhand., Part I: Initials, dates and headings in red. Part II: Two decorated initials, ff. 47r and 129r, 6-line, in red, green and blue. Decorative headings in brown ink touched with red and green, or red touched with blue. Small initials, 4- to 1-line in red, some with foliage scrolls in red or contrasting color. Headings in red., First part of the manuscript has been extensively patched and repaired., and Binding: Fifteenth century (?), France. An early resewing on three double, twisted, tawed skin supports laced into wide grooves in oak boards and pegged with rectangular or square pegs. Covered in brown sheepskin with corner tongues, blind-tooled with diagonals in an outer frame. Spine leather wanting. Leather on boards much worn.
