Samuel ben Moses, called Samuel Frank of Laudenbach (in Württemberg) (autograph on fly-leaves in front and in back); 3] Zalman (Solomon) Loeb, of Erie, Pennsylvania (presentation-inscription to him on fly-leaf in back); 4] Solomon ben Meir (identical with 3?), who died on Tuesday, 23d Adar II, A.M. 5673 [A.D. 1913] at Erie, Pennsylvania (notice of his death by his son on fly-leaf in back).

In Latin., Script: copied by one hand in German Praecarolina. A marginal note on f. 1r in small script. Running headlines “Liber” and “Quartus” are written in Capitalis., Fragment of Antiquities of the Jews, by Flavius Josephus (37-ca. 95)., and Binding: the leaf has (s. XVIIin) been used as a limp parchment binding for an anti-Lutheran tract by Conradus Andreae (pseudonym of Conrad Vetter). F. 1v was the outer side and the six erased lines in its center, forming the spine, were used to write the abbreviated title of the printed tract.

Some later marginalia., Crudely executed initial and full border on f. 9r: gold initial, 11-line, on blue rectangular ground, with white vine-stem ornamentation highlighted in green; border in gold, blue, pale pink, mauve and green, consisting of swirling acanthus leaves, flowers, birds, gold dots and leaves around bar border in upper and outer margin, and with putti supporting laurel wreath (arms effaced) in lower margin. One penwork initial of pathetic quality, 8-line, red and blue divided body accompanied by red and blue penwork designs, on f. 125v. Table of contents (art. 1) and headings throughout, in bright red.
