- "A procession of characters riding fantastic velocipedes (see British Museum Satires No. 13399), in profile to the right, each an isolated figure, arranged in two rows divided by a horizontal line. Each machine is an appropriate object mounted on two wheels. [1] 'The Princes Hobby'. The Regent, with elegantly pointed toe, rides a cask inscribed 'Punch Princes Mixture'. [2] 'The Dukes Hobby'. The Duke of York, dressed as a field-marshal, bestrides a large green bag, inscribed '£10.000 for Visiting the Sick' [see British Museum Satires No. 13214, &c.]. [3] 'The Judges Hobby'. A judge in wig and gown rides a gibbet, the upright placed horizontally, the cross-bar connected with the steering gear, and inscribed 'Invented by the Bank'; a noose hangs behind [see British Museum Satires No. 13198, &c.]. [4] 'Wellingtons Hobby', he rides a cannon, cf. British Museum Satires No. 13385. [5] 'The Lawyers Hobby'. A barrister in wig and gown rides a long cylinder inscribed 'Brief'. [6] 'The Tailors Hobby'. A tailor, wearing a flowered dressing-gown, cap, ungartered stockings, and slippers, rides a goose. [7] 'The Parsons Hobby'.
