"An engraving showing Mr. Welbore Ellis in the character of Guy Faux, approaching the Houses of Parliament at night, and holding a dark lanthorn. Three of the buttresses of the building, illuminated by the lanthorn, are inscribed severally: -- "Freedom of Election", "Bill of Rights", "Magna Charta". The Earl of Bute appears in the background, dressed as a Scotchman, and by way of signal waving a baton. Mr. Ellis is watched from Heaven by the Eye of Providence. A smiling Charles Fox, as Guy Vaux, seated in a chair resting on two poles, is carried by Hall, the apothecary, and Sam House, two of his staunch supporters. He holds in one hand a dark lantern, inscribed, "amor patriae," and in the other a bundle of matches "for the new Parliament." Sam House, dressed in his customary open shirt and ungartered stockings, wears a hat with an election favor signed, "Vaux." Hall has on his head a mortar with pestle instead of a hat. "A lean man (right) wearing a doctor's tie-wig, is running from left to right to escape from a watchman who stands (left) springing his rightattle. On the ground is a basket or hamper, the lid of which has fallen open to show the body of a young woman in a shroud. A short irate man (centre) points at the escaping figure, turning towards the lean aged watchman, who holds in his left hand a large lantern, and a tall stick, whose head is carved to represent a head. In the watchman's hat, which is tied on with a scarf, is a tobacco pipe in full blast. The fleeing Anatomist holds a tall cane in his left hand; under his left arm is a dilapidated skull. He has dropped a paper inscribed "Hunter's Lectur[es]", showing that he is Dr. William Hunter (1718-83), the great anatomist. He built a house (1770) in Great Windmill Street to which were attached a dissecting room, lecture room, and a large museum, see British Museum Satires No. 6128.
