In Latin., Watermarks: (1) Cardinal's hat, var. Briquet 3397 (1479-1494); (2) and (3) Bull's head, var. Briquet 15373 (1488-1501)., Script: the main part of the codex (ff. 1r-132v) is copied by a single scribe writing a bold and compressed small Gothica Semitextualis Libraria. Ff. 133r-143v and the two inserted leaves 24bis and 119bis are copied in a larger and less careful hand using the same type of script., Rubrics and underlining, versals and 2-line (3-line on f. 25r) plain initials, all in red. On f. 5r a 3-line initial at the opening of Psalm 1 is not executed. All decoration is missing on ff. 23v, 24bis r, 119bis r, f. 125v, line 12 to the bottom of f. 126r, ff. 137r-143v. On ff. 133r-136v there are rubrics (in pale red) but no initials. No guide letters., The manuscript contains: 1) Psalterium feriatum for Sunday up to Wednesday; ends Psalm 57:6. 2) Three hymns for Advent. 3) Temporale, winter part, from the first Sunday of Advent to Holy Saturday. 4) Sanctorale, winter part, from the Vigil of Andrew (29 November) to the Conversion of Paul (25 January). 5) Chapters and Responsories for the Common of the Saints: Apostles, Evangelists, One Martyr, Several Martyrs, One Confessor, Several Confessors, One Virgin, Several Virgins, All Saints, Angels. 6) Chapters for the office of the Virgin. 7) Chapters, Versicles and Responsories for Advent through the Holy Week. 8) Prayers for the office from Advent through St. Stephen (26 December)., and Binding: original quarter binding on two split leather thongs, square-edged beech boards; white pigskin decorated with blind-tooled fillets. One decorated brass clasp attached to the rear board, with a decorated brass catch fixed with three nails to the front board. The binding is reinforced with a strip of parchment cut from a ca. 1100 missal (?), decorated with versals and plain initials in red and a 5-line Romanesque initial in red with blue tendrils on a liquid gold background.

The verso of the final folio bears the partially erased image of a large decorative initial, in green, over which the later text was written., and Binding: Nineteenth century. Head and fore-edge gilt, with tawed, pink markers on the fore-edge. Bound by William Matthews, a leading American binder (second half of the 19th century) in a dark brown goatskin Jansenist binding (plain outside with gold-tooled doublures).

In Italian., Script: Copied by one hand in Italian Gothica Hybrida Libraria/Currens., Headings in red ink of various darkness. On f. 1r the Prologue opens with an 8-line Gothic foliate initial L in purple and blue, heightened with white penwork, on a square golden background, containing a stylized flower in purple and yellow with green foliage and ending in blue, purple and green acanthus leaves; on the same page a full floral border in blue, purple and green with a multitude of hairy gold balls. On all the remaining pages the decoration was not executed: the rectangular spaces with guide letters for initials are blank. A 4-line initial was planned f. 5r at the beginning of the text, a 3-line initial at the beginning of chapter 2 (f. 10r), and 2-line initials at the beginning of the other chapters., and Binding: Of the original binding the wooden boards (and the gilt and gauffered edges) survive. The boards are now covered with brown 19th-century marbled paper and the spine with cloth-reinforced beige marbled paper. On the latter (now detached) a paper label with handwritten 19th-century inscription: "146. / Anonimo. / Della disciplina et perfectione / de la monastica conversatione. / Cartaceo. / secolo XV.".

In Greek., Unidentified watermarks: anchor in circle., Script: Written by a single scribe who signed himself "Callistus the holy deacon"., Simple headpieces on ff. 1r, 34r, 58r, 60v, 74r. Initials and headings, in red, for each new passage. Crudely drawn angel hovers over top of initial, f. 34r; birds perch on others. Folios 129-136 are not rubricated., and Binding: Date? Pastedowns sewn with bookblock. Three chain-stitched supports. Endbands attached to the square-edged, flush wooden boards. Loops of thread around the edges of the quires at head and tail. The spine is square and lined all along with vellum extending onto the inside of the boards and there seem to be lining strips extending on the outside of the boards also. Two pin holes with stubs of iron pins in them in the edges of the upper board and two holes for each strap on the lower. Rebacked. Covered with 13th-century Greek manuscript fragment containing musical notation, with front flyleaf from the same manuscript, and back flyleaf from a 12th century Greek liturgical text (all badly rubbed).

In Dutch., Script: Written by three people in what Lieftinck calls Littera brevitura. Scribe 1, ff. 1r-87v and 98r-153v, writes in a large and rather careless hand; 2, ff. 90r-97v, in a small even hand; 3, ff. 154r-272v, in a large uneven hand., Calligraphic initials, 5- to 3-line, in green or red with red or grey flourishes, often extending the length of the written area. Initials, 3- to 1-line, underlining, strokes on 1-line initials, and headings in red., and Binding: Sixteenth century. Original sewing on three double, tawed supports laced into the wooden boards. The spine is heavily rounded, with the sewing supports well defined by blind-tooled lines. Covered in dark brown calf with a panel of the Annunciation, in a border of birds, animals and flowers blind-stamped on each board inside outer frames of lines. There is a brass catch on the upper board and a long, thin brass clasp on a leather strap attached to the lower with a brass plate. The leather is slightly torn at the head of the spine but otherwise the book is in fine condition, with no trace of sophistication. Front and back pastedowns from a 15th-century Latin liturgical manuscript.
