Abstract:
A scene outside the Bell Inn in which a country girl, Moll Hackabout, just arrived on the York Wagon, meets an extravagantly dressed bawd (Mother Needham); a clergyman on horseback fails to notice the encounter, but a lecherous old gentleman (Colonel Charteris) eyes the girl with anticipation. In the lower right the girl's initials "M.H." (M[ary?] Hackabout) are on her portmanteau, next to which is a basket with a goose with a note around its neck, "For my Loving Cosen in Tems Stret in London", presumably the person who has failed to meet her. In the background a woman hangs out her laundry on a balcony

Abstract:
Outside an English country inn, over whose door a sign reads "Duke of Cumberland Roast and boil'd every day", a group of soldiers and sailors laugh at a large caricature of Louis XV on the tavern wall. They sit with two attractive young women around a table on which sits a large pie, a tankard, and a broadsheet with the verses of "Rule Britannia." In the lower left a soldier leans against a drum as he plays his flute; the music sheet in front of him is "God save Great George our King". To the right, a short well-fed man smiles as he stands on tip-toe to reach the height required by the recruiting sergeant. In the distance, soldiers are drilling in an orderly fashion; beyond them, on a hill is a large country house

"A short man riding (right to left) after a coach, the back of which only appears in the print, with a footman standing behind it. The rider's head is turned to his right concealing his profile. His legs are thrust forward on each side of the horse's neck. On a building (right) is a placard, "Angel Fetter Lane Derby Diligence continues flying daily as usual. Inside [the poster is torn at this point] Outsides & Children on the Lap half price, perform'd (if God permit by Bull & Co."
