Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number, 20,224., R. B. BONTECOU,, Richard Ives, Private, Co. B, 189th N.Y. Vols., aged 33, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 2nd, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound, the ball entering over middle of superior edge of scapula; extracted near the middle of left scapula; left scapula fractured and right injured. Wounded, March 29th, 1865, at the battle of Hatcher's Run, Va. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were tolerably good, did tolerably well up to April 20th, 1865, from that date the parts became gangrenous, gangrene extending the whole length of wound. The patient steadily sank, and died, May 16th, 1865, from exhaustion., Richard Ives., and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In Charge.
