King William IV dressed as a sailor dances in the centre of a semicircle of ministers who have black bodies and are partially draped. Among the ministers are Peel and Scarlett on the left, Lyndhurst and Wellington on the right both of whom wear nose-rings. Scarlett encircles Ellenborough, who, with Sugden, is behind the King. Their tribal dance celebration alludes to the relief that the ministers must have felt to be able to retain their positions with the new reign. William IV was a popular King and a stark contrast to George IV and was liable to wild bursts of passion as is suggested here. He and the Duke of Wellington (then prime minister) got on very well, hence the retainment of his ministers. He is dressed in sailor garb in reference to his years in the navy. The tribal dress of the ministers refers to the far-flung shores that William visited

"Queen Caroline, much burlesqued, stands (left) in the grounds of Brandenburgh House, looking up in angry distress at an irradiated sun in the upper right corner of the design containing a bust portrait of George IV and surmounted by a crown. She flinches to the left, holding up an ermine-bordered cloak to screen herself from the rays. In her right hand is a decanter of Brandy [cf. British Museum Satires No. 14175]. She has loose black ringlets, and wears a heavily-feathered black cap; frilled drawers are attached to a very high-waisted and décolletée bodice and display absurd ankle boots with the turned-up toes common in these prints. The rays from the King are inscribed: Westmorland, Camden, Eldon, Liverpool, Harrowby, Clarence, Gifford, Copley. In the background (right) is Alderman Wood, wearing his gown, running towards her, his arms extended, and followed by two braying asses. She is supported by two keen-looking lawyers. The officer, who is paunchy and wears very wide white trousers, stands with legs apart, right arm extended with pointing forefinger. He shouts: No. No. I've found my Breeches, but consider your Worship how I shall be Quized--The L--d H--h-A--l knows all about it. I never was before the Public but once, shant forget that in a hurry--Yes--yes I found the breeches, but where's my Silver Gilt Trafalgar Medal eh? I'll have it if it costs me a Thousand Pounds. I could'ent live without it. Ay Ay she's the Thief but I will not hang her unless your worship wishes it--If I had her aboard my Ship D--n me I'de give her a round dozen--I would. Print showing George IV in a rage against family members (Frederick and William) who are unwilling to lend their support for the Bill of Pains and Penalties and his divorce from Caroline; he smashes a bottle of wine over the head of Frederick and prepares to throw another bottle at William. A woman, possibly Lady Conyngham, offers words of encouragement from behind a drape, while a man leaning through a window says, "Hollo Georgy, mind what y'our after if you offend Fred: he has got a Red Rod in Pickle for you."

Queen Adelaide, side-saddle on a horse with a man's face, Lord Grey, using spurs and a riding crop to press him into the 'Slough of Despond', joining other politicians including Wellington. Grey says, " Don't drive so hard; you will worry me to death." A signpost 'To Reform' points the other way. A group behind her cry, "Go it, Addy, push him on, don't let him make any, without he first makes us."

A satire on Wellington's dismissal of the Duke of Clarence. A pyramid built of large stones stands in a open field. At the apex is inscribed the word "King" at the base left "Lords" and right "Commons". Kneeling on either side in his robes is a peer facing a simply dressed M.P. Between them on the ground are the heads of a unicorn and a lion which is being gnawed by a crow and a rat. Wellington in full uniform straddles the two men who support him. Between his legs a plaque on the pyramid reads: "Multum in parvo, or the British Constitution formerly consisting of the three estates, King, Lords, Commons, abridged into an elegant extract in one volume!"

"George IV sits in a four-wheeled light cart, inscribed Goods, drawn by loyal Hanoverians; it is covered by a canopy supported on poles. He sits on a high seat with his back to the shafts, scattering gold coins, which Londonderry (Castlereagh), who faces him on a lower seat, ladles into his lap. In the cart, besides a pile of coins, are packages and a basket of bottles of Brandy. The King: We have got the Means of Replenishing behind, throw away--Hurrah my Lads, we'll make Soldiers of you & take a few thousands in to our pay. The 'means' are the heavy burdens on the back of John Bull, an emaciated bull, marked I.B, tied to the cart, and weighed down with enormous bundles of taxes inscribed: Leather Tax Soap, Salt Tax; Candles Tax Beer Malt Light; Ale &c &c &c &c &c; Taxes Taxes Taxes. The bull plods along, with broken knees, shedding tears. The cheering Hanoverians catch the golden shower in their hats; the most prominent wears smart but mended German uniform of hussar type. One says: He is indeed a Hanoverian at Heart; another answers: No, He is an Irish Man he says [cf. British Museum Satires No. 14246, &c]. A third: Why some Years ago he said he & his Brother William were the only ones in the Family who were not Germans. The King wears a coat of foreign cut, with a round (Teutonic) cap, and smokes a long German pipe with covered bowl. A little ragged boy collects coins in an apron. A peasant woman (right) with an apronful of coins, holds one up, shouting Aye this is a proof of the excessive Riches of England."--British Museum online catalogue
