The Blues Opera, annotated in an unidentified hand, is "based on a play by Arne [sic] Bontemps & Countee Cullen" and both scripts acknowledge "lyrics by Johnny Mercer." Free and Easy is inscribed "Property of: Stanley Ross..."

Aleta Blanche Baker, American author, was born in Maine in 1880, and died in Miami, Florida, on January 19, 1943. Baker was the founding director of the Order of the Portal, a Christian occultist group headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
