"A young woman walks mincingly (left to right), her left hand extended, in her right is a large closed fan. Check or tartan ribbons form the crown of her hat and the bows with which it is trimmed. A similar tartan is worn as a pelerine, crossed at the waist and tied in a bow, long voluminous ends hanging down the back of her dress. A tartan ribbon is tied to the handle of her fan. From the brim of her hat, in which is an erect ostrich feather, hangs a transparent curtain of gauze. Her hair, cut short across the forehead, hangs down her back in a long queue, tied up at the end with a bow. There is a landscape background."--British Museum online catalogue

"Between the Prince of Wales and the Duke of York trips the tiny Duchess of York, holding a hand of each, her arms raised in order to do so. Behind the three stands a colossal man in Highland dress wearing a plaid, sporran (with the Prince of Wales feathers as a crest), and feathered cap. The Prince (left), who is in civilian dress, wearing a round high-crowned hat, says, "My Dear little Sister when you are tired Big Sam shall carry you!" The Duke, handsome in regimentals, turns to her, saying, "come my Love you shall see Papa driving the Pigs & Mama Milking the Cows". He points (right) to a distant scene, where the King in hunting dress chases two galloping pigs with a whip, saying, "Pig wont go", and the Queen is milking a cow."--British Museum online catalogue

Abstract:
The Coalition ministers are gathered around the table placed in the mouth of a cave. On the left sits Lord North wearing armor under his cloak, a goblet in his left hand. Opposite him on the right is Charles Fox, dressed as a centurion and sitting on a fox. He leans on the table keeping his right hand on three dice signed, "Madras," "Bombay," and "Bengal," and clutching a dice box in his left. Behind him Admiral Keppel, the date of the battle of Ushant (1778) on his helmet, raises his goblet in a toast. Behind him Sheridan, with ass's ears and "School for Scandal" written across his head cover, watches the Duke of Portland count out money to Lord Carlisle. On Portland's shoulder leans Lord Cavendish in a centurion's armor under his cloak. Between him and North sits Burke in a Jesuit's outfit reading his own "Plan of oeconomy [sic]." Under the table lie the corpses of Lords Shelburne and Ashburton, ousted by the Coalition

A collection of prints and drawings probably assembled in the late 1830s or early 1840s, although the drawings may have been executed earlier. The wash drawings by Agnes Berry are of mostly Italian sites in Genoa, Florence, Naples, Rome, and Nice with one drawing of Mont Cenis in France. The lithographs are more varied in theme and include: two engravings after paintings by Raphael, possibly removed from an illustrated book; etchings and lithographs of carriages and coaches; lithographs of buildings; a group of four etchings by Henry Monnier and two lithographs by Delpach; and nine etchings and engravings of contemporary actors and actresses in theatrical costumes. All images have been mounted and most have been captioned, probaby by Margret Graves
