From the Duchess's small coronet rise giant ostrich feathers which curve above the heads of both and above which a big ducal coronet is suspended. He sings: My Wife shall dance, And I will sing so merry we'll pass this day. She: For I hold it one of the wisest things to drive dull care away. The musicians are two cynical cupids; one (left) sits on large sacks of sovereigns inscribed Cash; coins pour from a slit in a sack and lie on the carpet with a banker's money-scoop. A large cotton handkerchief printed with red ink (madder); the drop head title is printed on a ribbon suspended between two trumpets and is divided after the word 'valentine' by a portrait of Pope. The central cartouche shows three scenes of courtship and is encircled by a knotted ribbon, every other loop in a heart-shape, and contains the lines beginning: I liked you best for true love it is a precious pleasure of a value more than rich mens treasure ... The lines of a love song telling the story of the courtship and marriage of Johnny and Mary are printed in the ribbons flowing on either side of the title ribbon. Along the bottom are two more scenes -- one of the betrothal, the other the wedding -- with two love birds in a small cartouche dividing the two scenes

"The Prince and Mrs. Fitzherbert, dancing to the fiddle of George Hanger (right), advance towards an open door (left) through which is seen a large bed, the curtains raised; above the pillows are a crown and triple plume. The feathers are repeated on a chamber-pot under the raised valance of the bed. They are more elaborately dressed than in BMSat 6924; their arms are round each other's waists, the Prince holds with his right hand the left hand of Mrs. Fitzherbert. She wears a small crown, with flowers and ribbons, and triple ostrich plume. George Hanger is dressed as in BMSat 6924; he stands in profile to the left, watching the couple fixedly; a bludgeon hangs from his wrist. An open music-book at his feet shows that he is playing the 'Black Joke'. On the floor (left) are an open book, 'Matrimony', and a torn paper, 'Cirtificate'.
