- Caption title., First line: James Head was indicted for having set fire to a barn in tho [sic] occupation of John Overall, of Wakeley, and burning thereby an immense quantity of corn, his property, on the 27th Aug. last. ..., Printed in two columns. The first column gives an account of the crime and the trial; the second column, headed "Hertford, March 17, 1819," begins with an account of Head's execution and continues with sections headed "A copy of the letter, sent by the unfortunate man to his wife" and "A prayer.", and Mounted on thick paper. Repairs to edges in a few places, notably the upper left corner, where the letter "T" in "Trial" was carefully replaced in facsimile. For further information, consult library staff.
