Bust portrait of Fox in an oval frame, head turned left. Below the portrait, bordered by a draped cloth is a scene -- a representation of the opposition and a hostile account of Fox and the Holland family, in front of Westminster Hall. In the center of the scene, a statue of a headless king holding an orb stands on a rectangular pedestal inscribed with the words "Magna carta". A satyr (left) is breaking the sceptre across his knee, the king's head on the ground beside him. A man with ass's ears raises a pickaxt to strike the pedestal. To the right of the statue a dishevelled woman holds the staff and cap of liberty. Another man (popular rage) with a raised club is about to strike the statute

About forty years ago the chancel of Barnwell Church (near Barnwell Castle two miles from Oundle) was repaired[?] and the head taken down by the carpenter employ'd, in whose hands it remaind. & his sons thirty years - who gave it to a carpenter of Peterborough where is remain'd till it came into the possession of Dr. Palmer of Peterborough. "A (tricolour) top with the head of Napoleon spins, above the ground, savagely lashed by representatives of the Allies. His arms and his legs have already been severed from his body, now represented only by the madly spinning top. The most violently active is Blücher (left) stripped to the shirt, his coat and hat thrown on a drum on the extreme left, beside which lie his gloves and baton. Facing them is Wellington (right) equally effective, stern, but less savage. Full-face, and immediately behind the top is the Tsar, left hand on hip; his whip is inscribed 'Knout'. Between him and Wellington is Schwarzenberg (or Francis I). Bernadotte stands rather behind, between Blücher and Alexander, both hands on his hips; he holds a whip but is an amused spectator. Behind (right) the future King of Holland, crowned and wearing a star, but dressed in the breeches and jacket of the Dutchman in English caricature, sits under a tree on a cask of 'Hollands'. He watches delightedly, holding up one of Napoleon's legs inscribed 'United Netherlands'. The other leg, the thigh inscribed 'Swisslad, the boot Italy, lies near Blücher. At Wellington's feet is the right arm inscribed Spain & Portugal'; the left arm, inscribed 'Germany', is near Schwarzenberg. Napoleon's orb and (broken) sceptre lie near him, with some of the feathers from the large hat which is still on his head; his horrified and shrieking profile faces Blücher. In the background (left) is a road along which a carriage drives off, drawn by four galloping horses. It contains tiny figures: Marie Louise, crowned and looking behind her, and the little King of Rome also crowned and waving a sceptre. Two soldiers are on the box, two others sit behind. In the air behind Bernadotte a demon flies off to the left, with Joseph Bonaparte clutching his barbed tail. The latter, his crown flying off, looks back horrified, exclaiming "O! "The King of Spain sits on a circular dais under a canopy, turning his head away from the English ambassador (left), a stout John Bull wearing top-boots behind whom stand four pugilists. Three Spaniards with pikes stand on the extreme right behind the throne, and three courtiers stand in the background. The King wears a short tunic and ruff with a feathered hat; all the Spaniards have long upturned moustaches, all look dismayed. Three of the pugilists are inscribed: 'Big Ben' [Benjamin Brain], 'Humphries', and 'Mendoza'; the fourth is Ward. Beneath the design is etched: 'Great Sir, I am arrived from Albion's Court, Who have taken in Dudgeon what you may think Sport; So it may for the present; but we'll soon make it appear, You'll have reason to laugh the wrong side of your ear! Our Traders in Nootka, by some of your Curs, Were all sent to Quod and robb'd of their Furs, Your right so to do which you claim from the Pope, We Britons dont value the end of a rope! It's a farce you may make your weak Subjects believe, But our right's equal to yours from Adam and Eve. Therefore if you don't make us immediate amends, No longer can we look upon you as Friends, Should you wish for a War we have got a new race, Of such brave fighting fellows, not the Devil dare face!
