"A magician stands full face with uplifted sabre held over the heads of two figures from the past whom he has called up, and who stand within a magic circle. He displays them to their modern descendants, a tall stout Frenchman plainly dressed, wearing cocked hat and military boots, who stands with his arm on the shoulder of a thin, wretched, shambling, Englishman, small, ugly, and foppish, his hand thrust through an empty pocket. The magician has a beard, but features, cocked hat, consular dress, and sabre indicate Napoleon. He asks: "Are you satisfied Gentlemen?" The apparitions (left) are a grossly obese Englishman in old-fashioned dress, a cane hanging from his right wrist, and an ugly, tall, cadaverous, and foppish Frenchman holding a snuffbox. They say, respectively: "Is that my Grandson Jack? what a skeleton!!!"; "Ah mon Cousin, vat you eat de Beef & Plum Pudding!!" Their surprised successors exclaim: "Bless me! why I am a mere Stump of a man to him!!! and viable my Cousin look like de Frog & John Bull look like de Ox but Grace a Dieu times are Changed!!" "George IV, dressed as a magician, rises from the throne (right) to give a wooden sword to Canning, who is dressed as Harlequin. A clown (intended for Melville) turns his back on Canning and the King, to run off, registering anger and alarm. Wellington stands fiercely, with legs astride, both arms raised, holding his sword; he wears uniform with boots and cocked hat. On the left Eldon and Westmorland stand together, with flexed knees, registering senile dismay. The latter, dressed as Pantaloon, drops his crutch. The King, in a robe bordered with symbols (serpents, &c), has the curled wig and whiskers which he had discarded (cf. British Museum Satires No. 14637). He chants: Harlequin! the Gods above have now decreed That thou and all thy measures shall succeed. Fear not old El--n, nor that Pantaloon, West----d, the bold Duke, nor the Scotch Clown. Who e'er opposeth thee, thou by love shalt thrive; Thy Genius and my Cunning him shall drive To H--ll's abyss. Design in an oval depicts John Molesworth holding a wand seated at a wooden table and wearing a conical hat and dressing gown. He points towards lottery wheels from which 2 small boys wearing paper crowns observe him. Molesworth is saying "Eo, Meo, and Areo, stick close my boys and let me have all the capital prizes in my calculation." Before him on the table are ink bottle and quill, several books, including one entitled Calculations and another Conjurations, together with The life of Duncan Campbel, deaf & dumb fortune-teller. Molesworth in 1774 authored Proofs of the reality and truth of lottery calculations

"A 'conjuror' or magician displays to John Bull on a screen four scenes, one below the other, representing the expedition to Flushing. He wears a conical hat with a wide fur brim, and his magician's robe resembles that of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, indicating Perceval; he holds a long staff or wand topped by a little head, that of Portland, grinning; it is labelled The Old One. John stoops to look through a telescope inscribed Patent directed at the screen, the vision on which is projected by a small dark-lantern held by Perceval. John is a yokel in a smock; beside him lies his cudgel inscribed Oak. He is highly delighted at what he sees, namely: [1] a fleet leaving England, tiny figures being indicated on the shore. [2] Ships bombarding and soldiers attacking a fortified town which is on fire. [3] The garrison of the town surrendering to British officers, with grenadiers drawn up at attention. A French officer holds out the keys of the town to Chatham, one of whose staff is in Highland uniform. Two tricolour flags are being laid down by fat Dutchmen in French uniforms. [4] British troops being landed from a man-of-war; wounded soldiers are being carried up the beach. John says: Zookers Measter Shewman that be a main foine sight sure enough, that will fright the Mounseers however Aye Aye they be at it. I think I can smell the Gonpowder, by Goles if they ha'nt done the Job! there's Mounseer and Mynheer on their Marrow-bones! but Dang it what have we got at the bottom here I be quite. Perceval interrupts: Stop! Stop! Mr Bull if you have got to the bottom of it I'll turn the Instrument for that part wont bear Magnyfieing. Canning (?), poorly characterized, as is Perceval, kneels (left), raising John's smock to take a money-bag from his pocket. He says: With your leave Johnny I'll take a little more money for the next shew of the Jubilee [see No. 11381]. A demon looks out from behind the curtain on which the 'Phantasmagoria' is projected; he laughs: He, He. The room is that of a quack, cf. No. 9611. A large crocodile is suspended from the roof, draped with a tricolour flag and labelled Caug [sic] in the Nile by Nelson [cf. No. 9250, &c.]. A bat (alive or stuffed) is also displayed. Perceval and John Bull stand within a circle surrounded by cabalistic signs and lit by a second dark-lantern which stands on the floor beside a celestial globe (left). Behind Canning and on the extreme left three small niches are recessed in the wall, one upon the other, in each of which is a skull; inscriptions: Conjuror Pitt (above), Katterfelto, and Conjuror Bute. They are: Curious Collection of Conjuros Capets [sic]. On a high shelf are documents: Way to raise the Wind; New Taxes; Proceedings in Spain and Portugal; Plan of an Expedition to Brobdignag; List of Killed and Wounded [torn]. A broadside is pinned to the wall. A soldier on two stumps for legs, supported on a crutch: Soldier Dick come from the War. A scene in a room: Justice Henry Fielding stans in a circle drawn on the floor, the scales of 'Astrea' in his pocket, his hand supported on the sword of Justice. Also in the circle as if to protect them from witchcraft are the Lord Mayor Sir Crisp Gascoyne, his state collar round his neck, and "Dr." John Hill, the clyster-pipe of 'Galen' in his pocket; the latter points to the gypsy Mary Squires whose cause he advocated. Fielding points to Elizabeth Canning with an attendent(?) behind, whose story he eagerly defended. Two pictures hanging on the wall amplify the subject of the print: on the left, a view of the Mansion House, London, then recently erected; and on the right, a view of the Old College of Physicians, comprising a mortar, a dried and stuffed skin of a crocodile, a human skeleton, and a stuffed ostrich. Between the pictures hangs the regalia of the City of London. Centered on the ground is a bottle labelled 'Another bottle' alluding to the 'Bottle-Conjurer' (See British Museum satire 'The magician' no 3022).
