"At South end of the beach with Sugar-Loaf" seen through the gate. Aug. 1929. Double Islnd. Hildreth." A view of an island in the middle of water through a gap in some large rocks.
The main image consists of a large mountain, with several men with staffs and mountain goats scattered about. There is a large oval frame in the center, depicting another mountain and human figures within. Abover the oval is the phrase Per Ardua. In four points along the oval are different coats of arms. Surrounding the oval is a list of names, which include Meyer, Wyttenbach, Simler, Placidus, Erzh. Johann, Rotario, Petrarch, Gessner, Scheuchzer, Bourrit, Paccard, Saussure.
