Fragment of a paper written by Ebenezer Porter Mason, manuscript, pages numbered 9-16, discussing methods of observing nebulae, 1839 Dec 26; ALS from Augustus W. Tyler to "Messrs. Editors," North Madison, 1859 Dec 3, describing his sighting of a meteor on Nov 15; and a brief description, written in manuscript in an unidentified hand, of a sighting of a meteor by Horatio G. Broome in the vicinity of Colchester, Connecticut, [18--?]. Also present is a report on observations of stars made to determine the latitude of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, written in manuscript in an unidentified hand, [18--?].
