Description:
Charles E. Barnard, 1st Sergt, Co. F., 57th Mass. Vols., age 23, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital, April 2nd 1865, with gunshot flesh wound. The ball entered a little to the right of the first dorsal vertebra, and emerged at the left side of the neck. The wound was received near Petersburg, Va., March 25th 1865. The missile was supposed to be the conoidal ball. The patient did well and was transferred North, April 8, 1865., Charles E. Barnard., Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number, 20,300., R. B. BONTECOU, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In charge.
