At her side (right) a little boy plays gentle with a nest filled with eggs. A magpie sits on the edge of a basket filled with eggs. The young man points left to a pair of love birds on the wall behind, a dove cote in the yard of the house beyond. From behind the tree an old woman looks at the scene with anger, her first clenched. The cat on the fence beside her looks ready to pounce
