Description:
Alfred B. Lane, Private, Co. F., 39th N.Y. Vols., aged 49, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 5th, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of right hip over gluteus maximus muscle, the ball injuring soft parts. Wounded, April 1, 1865, at the battle of Hatcher's Run, Va. On admission the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good. Patient did tolerably well up to April 20th, 1865, when parts became gangrenous. May 1st, wound clean but occasional slight hemorrhage and profuse suppuration. Patient gradually sank, and died May 18th, 1865, from exhaustion., Alfred B. Lane., Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital April 5, 1865, with gunshot (flesh) wound left hip and left umbilical region, received in action near Petersburg, Va., March 29, 1865 by a conoidal ball. L, 2nd N.Y.H.A. aged 24, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 2, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of right hip, near outer margin of ilium, the ball injuring soft parts. Wounded, March 31st, 1865, at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good. Result favorable. Doing well., and William W. Wrightman.
