The bulk of the correspondence consists of letters from Bryher discussing Nadezhin's work, literature in general, and personal matters. The collection also contains drafts of Nadezhin's articles, poetry, and autobiography, as well as biographical information, concert programs, and photographs.

Donated by Bryher in 1963. and Nikolai Alexandrovich Nadezhin, also known as Nicholas Nadejine, was a Russian exiled opera singer who also wrote poetry. He became a close associate of Bryher. During World War II he worked for the British government and the Russian Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Hilles Fund, 2018., Iliazd, born Ilia Mikhailovich Zdanevich in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1894, was an avant-garde writer and typographer associated with Dada and Futurism. Iliazd studied in Saint Petersburg, Russia and worked as a journalist during World War I, before immigrating to France in 1921.
