Autograph narrative, extensively illustrated by Mrs. Kenah, of two journeys in Europe taken by the Kenah couple with friends in 1821-24 and in 1827-29. On the first tour, accompanied by Walter Burrell, MP for Sussex, and "Mrs. Crutchley of Sunning Hill Park....and a Blenheim spaniel," the Kenahs traveled through France, Switzerland, Italy, and Bavaria; they were present in Naples for the 1822 eruption of Mount Vesuvius, and spent time in Rome and Lucca as well. In the later tour, they visited the Low Countries, Germany, and Trieste. The text is clearly drawn from diaries kept by Mrs. Kenah during the tours, and contains her often humorous responses, as an "Inexperienced Traveller," to tourist sights, local customs and manners, "foreign" food, and travel difficulties, Mrs. Kenah describes herself as "a woman in quest of the Picturesque," and over 80 of her watercolors and pen and ink sketches are mounted in her travel album. Subjects include "Eruption of Vesuvius, October 22, 1822 as it appeared at midday;" several portraits of Lucchese, Swiss and German figures in local costume; a portrait of Tommaso Sgricci, the famous improvvisatore; a memorial Mass in Caudenberg; the "table d'hote" at the Baths of Ems; the Salon at the Palazzo Ricasoli in 1824; and a variety of "picturesque" landscapes, including a view of the Bay of Naples, of a canal in Venice, and of several castles and mountain scenes in Germany. Also included are several printed views of German scenes which have been hand-colored, and In addition, there are watercolors of English subjects at the end of the volume: cottage scenes, rural landscapes, "view of Box Hill," "Grimsthorpe, 1826," and "Dunkeld from Dr. Fisher's garden. Book of cyanotype photographs of New Orleans businesses created by photographer Edward T. Adams and compiled by publisher Albert D. Hofeline, 1887. The majority of the photographic prints appear facing a page with a printed advertisement for the business depicted in the image. The images often depict the staff of the business in front of its building. Several of the advertisements include detailed pictorial engravings and they all describe the goods and services of the business, Images of buildings identified with individual retailers include John Bastian, a book and picture dealer; William L. Cushing, a machinery dealer; E. C. Fenner, a carriage dealer; A. W. Hyatt, a stationer; Frank Keehn, an agent for the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association; David Lemley, a tinsmith; J. C. Morris, a woodenware dealer; John P. Richardson, a dry goods dealer; and W. G. Tebault, a furniture dealer, Images of factories and manufacturers include Lhote & Co., door and sash factory and lumber yard; Adolph G. Ricks & Co., leather and shoe findings; Joseph Schwartz, a dealer and manufacturer of wagons and carriages; and the Steam Candy Manufactory of confectioner C. H. Miller, which includes a man standing on the sidewalk with a display board advertising Diehl & Johnson Fireworks, Images of grocery businesses include Clark & Meader; D'Amico, Sidotti & Lewis; John T. An engraving of a web perfecting printing press manufactured by Water Scott & Company faces an advertisement for the Daily States newspaper, Business advertisements without photographic representations include the wholesale grocery firm of Parker and Hart; John Bassich, Jr., an attorney and counselor at law; John Bastian, a stationer and frame maker; Paul Bordenave, a grocer; the Garden District Bakery; French Market Tea Depot; John Schmitt Restaurant and Saloon; Crescent City Book Bindery; and the branch office for Thomas Fawcett & Sons, coal and coke dealers. Other advertisements include a prospectus of the College of the Immaculate Conception and an announcement for Arlaud's Strengthening Elixir, developed and distributed by druggist Leon Arlaud, and Images of locations that do not represent adjacent advertisements include views of cemeteries, waterfront, ships, and incidental views. Views of cemeteries include the Confederate Memorial Monument in the Greenwood Cemetery and a monument to the Washington Artillery of New Orleans in Metairie Cemetery (also known as Howard Cemetery). Views of waterfront in New Orleans include the steamboat landing at the foot of Canal Street; Bayou Saint John at the foot of Esplanade Street; Lake Pontchitrain at Pass Christian; and West End. John Webb (1611-1672) was the architect, and the property was owned by Princess Amelia, the third daughter of King George II from 1762 until 1786. A view from the front of the building that features six columns spaced around three tall archway doors. Pasted on a mount with three other views of the Gunnersbury House property and possibly mislabeled since another drawing labeled 'pavillion' possesses a more distinct chapel appearance

A volume of etchings by three daughters of art collector John Ingram 1767-1841) of Staindrop Hall in County Durham: Elizabeth Christian Ingram (born 1795), Caroline Ingram (1800-1819), and Augusta Isabella Ingram (born 1802). The family lived in Venice and took instruction from Venetian etcher Francesco Novelli whose own etchings were in manner of Rembrandt and whose influence can be seen in the sisters' etchings. The style of the various impressions is very similar and were apparently made within a fairly short period if the dated prints are an accurate indication; some of the prints bound in first are dated February 1816 and then March 1816. This dating seems to be confirmed by a contemporary inscription on the front free endpaper: "These are the works of the Miss Ingrams' from their first lesson, 18..." Only five of the prints are unsigned; several prints in multiple impressions or two or more states, using brown and black inks and various stocks of paper, a few bearing a British watermark and date of 1814. Some of the prints have been mounted, but most have been printed directly on contiguous leaves forming the signatures of the volume
