In Latin., Script: Written in a small neat gothic script., Twenty-one illuminated initials, 12- to 3-line, green, blue, pink, grey or red with white filigree against gold ground edged in black. Initials filled with curling acanthus, red, green, grey and unburnished gold against blue ground with white filigree, and ending in foliage serifs, as above. In the margins gold balls with a single hair-line spike. Numerous flourished initials with interior harping alternate blue and red with red and pale yellow penwork. Headings in red. Paragraph marks alternate red and blue. Several marginal drawings, among them grotesques (ff. 53v, 54r) and human heads, a woman holding a flower (f. 39v), a snake impaled on a spear (f. 58v), in a nearly contemporary hand. Guide letters for the decorator in red. Space left unfilled for initial on f. 4r., and Binding: Nineteenth century, Italy. Half bound in brown mottled calf with a gold-tooled spine and cream, blue-green, and red paste-paper sides. Red and olive green paste-paper pastedowns in a chevron pattern. Red edges.

In Italian., Script: the main section is copied by a single hand writing Southern Gothica Textualis Libraria; the headings in Southern Gothica Semitextualis Libraria. The Prayer to the Virgin is in Semitextualis under Hybrida influence; the two final Latin quotations in a large decorative impure Textualis Formata. The Pseudo-Bernard is in small rapid Italian Hybrida, the Latin Psalm verses in a larger and more formal form of the same script, with large opening majuscules. In the main section headings and stroking of majuscules in red; 1- and 2-line plain red initials half inserted, with large guide letters in the margin; a 3-line similar initial on f. 2r. The text opens with an outline initial in black., Manuscript on paper of a number of ascetical treatises and prayers, including: 1) Pseudo-Bernard of Clairvaux, Octo versus. 2) Aegidius O.S.B. (Perhaps the author is to be identified with Andreas Franchi de Pistorio (1335-1401)). 4) Prayers ascribed to St. Augustine. 5) The Apostles' Creed as supposed to be jointly composed by the twelve Apostles; the Seven Sacraments; the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit; the Seven Virtues; the Seven Mortal Sins; the Ten Commandments; the Works of Charity; the Ten Impediments of Penance; the Fifteen Signs announcing the Last Judgment. 6) Prayer to the Virgin., and Binding: unbound.

The latter are not always correct, as appears from the final chapters. Ascribed to Petrus de Utino (d. 1368) by Stegmüller 6939. 3) Concordantia Prophetarum cum Symbolo Apostolico: the Apostles' Creed as supposed to be jointly composed by the twelve Apostles, each article being preceded by an appropriate utterance by one of the twelve prophets. 4) Table of the chapters of an alphabetically arranged treatise on the virtues and vices, referring to the foliation of the manuscript in which it occurred. 5) Treatise on virtues and vices in alphabetical order. 6) Biblical quotations upon the twelve defences protecting the spiritual city. 7) Index of the chapters of art. 5, referring to the original foliation of this part of the manuscript. 8) Commentary on the text of the Memento of the Deceased and of the Living in Mass., Script: copied by seven scribes.
