Abstract: A man, possibly George III or Lord North, is seated on a three-legged stool, the legs of which are labelled Lords, Privy Council, and Commons, this last deeply cut by the axe. At the left, a seated Britannia sleeps, the cap of liberty atopt her drooping spear while male figures representing Holland, Spain and France occupy the foreground, a suggestion that the conflict with America serves to the advantage of these other European powers
