Illuminated manuscript, on paper, of Dīvān-ı Bāḳī Efendi, a poetry collection beginning with a ḳasīde (eulogy) for Sultan Süleymān II. Includes additional ḳaṣīdes (eulogies) and ġazels (lyric poems), as well as maṭla' verses, ḳıṭ'as (strophes), and mu'ammā (verse riddles).

Colophon indicates manuscript was copied by Ḥasan el-Dā'ī (حسن الداعي) in H. 991/1583-1584.
Layout: Double columns of 15 lines. Catchword on each verso.
Script: Nasta'liq.
Binding: Flap binding, gold-tooled central medallion with floral designs; gold-tooled mandorla on flap; blind-tooled and gold-painted frames and decoration.
Decoration: Illuminated headpiece and title strip; rubrication, including text frames.
Later contemporary manuscript annotations in several hands: doodles including test headpiece (verso front flyleaf); death dates of prominent scholars (f. 1a); short poetic excerpts (verso front flyleaf). Sparse marginal annotations in two hands, including poems in contemporary black ink and other reader notes in modern pencil. - Provenance
- Ownership inscriptions of Muḥammed eş-Şehīr (محمد الشهير), Muṣṭafá (مصطفي), and Ḥalīl Efendizāde (حليل افندزاده) (f. 1a). Bookstamp (f. 1a): Nūrī (نوري). Unidentified bookstamps (recto front flyleaf, f. 107b). Bookstamp (verso rear flyleaf): Muṣṭafá Tevfīḳ (مصطفى توفيق). Purchased September 1964.
