Provenance: Purchased from Strawberry Hill Sale, 19 May 1842, twenty-second day's sale, lot 44 (2 gns. to Forster). Bought in 1891 by a member of the Müntz family by descent to S.H. Louet and by inheritance to R.A. Müntz from whom acquired by W.S. Lewis for £150; April 1953.
