On the left Bacchus stands wearing a pelt across his torso; his crown is made of grape leaves which also adorn his staff. In his left hand he holds out a crown towards Ariadne who reclines under a tree partially draped with a cloth, her eyes turned toward the viewer. A satyr kneels on the left near Bacchus smiling as he looks at the scene while a small cupid in the tree above Ariadne hands down a bunch of grapes
