- "A dancing-master, playing his small fiddle or kit, dances, facing a stout 'cit' who dances between wife and daughter, holding their hands; another grown-up daughter dances opposite them beside the dancing-master. The 'cit's' leg is extended stiffly. The first daughter says: "Law Pa that's just as when you was drilling for the Whitechaple Volunteers-- only look how Ma and I & sister Clementina does it??--" Pa: "I say Mounseer Caper! don't I come it prime? Ecod I shall cut a Figor!!" The man answers: "Vere vell Sar, Ver Vell you vil danse a merveille vere soon!" On the left a tiny child imitates her father's step, supported by a little sister, while three rather older children dance in a ring. A plainly dressed maiden aunt sits in an armchair (right). A handsomely furnished drawing-room is suggested. The curtains are drawn, candles burn on the chimney piece. - Abstract:
- "One of a set (coloured) by Williams, all with the same imprint (British Museum Satires Nos. 12933-6). An adaptation of British Museum Satires No. 12925. The stout man dancing between two ladies is in military uniform with a large sabre. The room is altered by the addition of a side wall (left) to which the fireplace is transferred. In its place is the square piano under a large mirror. All the figures are altered; a lady in an arm-chair with a man leaning over her has been added. Elaborate gas or oil lighting replaces candles: a hanging chandelier with a circle of globes with chimneys, with similar lamps in brackets on a glass over the chimney-piece, which is surmounted by a standing lamp. There are three whole length portraits of dancers striking attitudes, two being 'Mde H[i]llisburgh' and 'Monr Vestris'."--British Museum online catalogue

- "George IV as Midas in O'Hara's burletta dances a pas seul, holding up his hands. He wears old-fashioned dress, with long flowered waistcoat and a large wig which falls back, revealing his own curled toupet. He sings, the words adapted from Midas's song (II. i), as in British Museum Satires No. 14241: 'Oh! what pleasures will abound, Now my Wife is laid in ground, Strange Earth does cover her. I can't dance over her. Never mind, she's laid in Ground! Oh! how happy I shall be When a young Nisy pigs with me, How I'll mumble her; Touze and tumble her; Sixty is not sixty three!!' In the middle distance (right) Eldon, in wig and gown, and Sidmouth as Pan dance together, the latter holding up a frothing tankard. Sidmouth has a bare torso, goat-skin breeches, and cloven-hoof shoes, but not the wreath of vine-leaves and grapes of Pan in the play. Eldon has dropped the mace and the purse of the Great Seal; he sings: 'Oh! how happy I should be Was but this the case with me Oh what prancery! I'd cut Chancery! What comfort then at home for me. How gloriously you then shall dine, Fish, Flesh, Fowl, wash'd down with Wine No more thinking, But keep drinking, Peace to her Soul with 9 times 9.' In the background (left) Castlereagh (Londonderry) and Sidmouth sit at a table outside a rustic Irish inn, with the sign of the Crown and the word Whisky on the lintel. The hostess brings a bowl of punch, saying to Liverpool: You have got the Old Gentleman in good humour at last. He answers: Yes and now we must get him a young wife to keep him so. She says: "Dear me it is perdigus Hot! which would you advise me to do take a Rubber or Dance." He answers: "Dance first! Madam, and take the Rubber afterwards." A fashionably dressed but vulgar-looking man stands by, looking quizzically at the lady. In the background (left) is a high musicians' gallery, and below it four people dance a (?) country dance. - "Ministers and others dance in a ring round a Green Bag (see British Museum Satires No. 13735) resting on a horizontal beam which is supported on a post. Round post and bag cling poisonous plants labelled 'Devils Bit', 'Enchanters Nightshade', 'Scorpion Grass', and 'Henbane'. The wide-mouthed bag is filled with Italian witnesses, clamouring with eager hands stretched towards Leach, the Vice-Chancellor, who stands in the centre of the bag, towering above them. In each hand he holds out a sheaf of bills or notes inscribed 'Promise'; he says: "Gentlemen a [sic] we are now about brining [sic] this business to a close, allow me to address a few words to you; as its not at all improbable that you may be d . . . d roughly handled by my Countrymen, be sure and be firm, stick one and all of you to your depositions--don't be brow beaten and thrown of your guard your priest will give you absolution, and here are some promises that will enable you to return home and buy Principalities.!!!" The witnesses answer: "Me want l'Argent"; "de Monte ... "; "Sacre Bleu de Monie"; "Monie M ..."; "Me no Sware widout Monie"; "No promise, de Monie"; "Si, Si, Diavilo de monies." The King stands behind the post, concealed from the waist up by the bag; his words float up towards Leach: "Why Deputy Bags [i.e. deputy to Eldon] could you not have picked out a more respectable set of Scoundrels." Facing the King, and in back view, are Sidmouth and Castlereagh, holding hands and capering delightedly. The former says: "Derry we want music, can't you whiste [sic] Lillibulero?" Castlereagh answers: "Faith Doctor I sing small, and can't whistle at all; you had [sic] give us a tune on your pipe" [the clyster-pipe hanging from Sidmouth's pocket, cf. British Museum Satires No. 9849]. The Attorney-General, Gifford, holds Sidmouth's left hand; he looks up at Leach, saying, "He is exalted sure enough! well! I hope to be in time! else wherfore breathe I in a Christian Land!" Canning, on the extreme left, holding the hands of Gifford and (?) Lord Harrowby, exclaims: "Egad I hope they won't cut his throat before he gets rid of them! what an exit for Vice!--" In his pocket is a paper: 'Canning jests'. Between Harrowby and the (concealed) King stands Wellington, less caricatured than the others; he says: "Why he has skimed the Very Scum of the Country Sire!" Holding Castlereagh's right hand is Lord Eldon, in Chancellor's wig and gown; he looks up at Leach, saying, "There you are Vice! up to your knees in iniquity!--" Next him and on the extreme right is Wilberforce, with lank hair and drawn-down mouth. He cries: "The Lord have mercy upon him and help him safe down again! what a cut throat Crew." Facing the Chancellor, and holding the King's left hand, is the Archbishop of Canterbury, fat and grinning (cf. British Museum Satires No. 13276); he says: "Our pious brother there Will by-force ejaculate something holy!" Between them is a partly concealed head."--British Museum online catalogue
