Edward T. Crosby was an officers servant in the 19th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, 1861-1862, and served as a soldier in the 50th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, 1862-1863. He died at sea on Aug 2, 1863.

Holograph manuscript diary kept by James Lockhart while employed as a clerk by the Hudson's Bay Company. The diary describes his work in the store and office at Lachine, 1848 Sep-1849 May; a canoe trip from Lachine through the Great Lakes, Winnipeg River, and Winnipeg Lake to York Factory, 1849 May-July; and his work at York Factory, 1849 Jul-Sep. Lockhart includes observations of American Indians encountered in his work and while traveling to York Factory. The diary ends with a single entry for 1852, summarizing his yearly work routine at York Factory. Also present are a shorthand vocabulary and other brief notes. A preliminary page is signed, "James Lockhart, Toronto Academy, 1847 Oct 8."

Manuscript journal of a London wine merchant's travels in France, Germany, Switzerland and the Low Countries during the summer and fall of 1835, accompanied as far as Switzerland by a boy, Alfonzo Pipon. The diary documents travel and hotel conditions; social events and contacts with British residents in various cities; business plans and trade fairs; and encounters with members of the British and Continental aristocracy, Although they witnessed part of the "Grand Review" by Louis Philippe on July 28, 1835, Collins and Pipon only heard reports of Fieschi's assassination attempt shortly after. Holograph diary, apparently incomplete, of part of a tour through Italy. The diary opens with a description of a tour of Herculaneum and of antiquities and sight-seeing in Naples, followed by a journey to Rome. Tebbs describes a visit to the Vatican Library and the manuscripts and incunabula shown to him by the librarians, including fragments of early Greek Gospel texts and a large "Hebrew Bible presented by the Duke of Urbino." Tebbs and his unnamed companions then journey to Florence, where they see the major sites by engaging a guide to "drive about the whole day," and then proceed to Bologna for two days, visiting the University and its library. Abstract:
In 1850 Frush traveled from Missouri to Oregon by way of St. Joseph, Blue River, the North Platte, and Fort Laramie, where he met his brother John and Kit Carson. They continued by South Pass, Bear River, Soda Springs, Fort Hall, Fort Boise, the Dalles, and Portland. He records graves, the names and homes of other travelers, and ends his account with events in Oregon. The diary contains drawings of Chimney Rock, Court House Rock, profile of the Snake River, and a map of the Burnt River.
