Divisional title on p. 109: Descrizione dell'Ercole in Tebe festa teatrale.
Illustrated by 13 etchings by Valerio Spada of scenes from the opera: 12 are double-page, tipped in at the center fold, and 1 full-sheet ill. is folded. Only this last is signed: V. Spada f&. Watanabe-O'Kelly & Simon reports an additional large fold-out plate at the front of the work depicting a palace and procession.
Note on last page apologizes for the poor quality of the etchings. Another state is reported, without this note.
Opera performed in Florence for the wedding of Cosimo III and Margherita Luisa d'Orleans. Comprises Giovanni Andrea Moniglia's libretto and Alessandro Segni's description of the performance. The music was by Jacopo Melani, Ferdinando Tacca designed the scenography, and Lionardo Martellini was in charge of the stage and its machinery (see p. 150).
