Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number, 20,459, John A. Dixon, John A. Dixon, Serg't, Co. I, 116th Pa. Vols., aged 32, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 12th, 1865, suffering from gunshot wound of left leg, lower third, the ball injuring soft parts. Wounded, March 31st, 1865 at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good. Patient did tolerably well up to May 10th, 1865, when parts became gangrenous. Result favorable. Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital, Hospital Number, 18,450., John Miller, Private, Co. K, 118th Pa. Vols., aged 32, was admitted to Harewood Gen. Hospital Oct. 7th, 1864, with amputated left thigh, lower third. The wound was received Sept. 3Oth, 1864, near Petersburg, Va.; nature of missile not positively known, but supposed to have been the conoidal ball. The patient states that the ball passed through the knee-joint. On the 29th of March, 1865, a sequestrum measuring about six inches, was drawn from the end of the stump. Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital., Hospital Number, 20.060., John Smith, Sergeant Company G., 2nd N.Y. Heavy Artillery, age 28 years, admitted to Harewood U.S A. General Hospital April 1st 1865, with a superficial gunshot wound of the lower third of the thigh, received near Petersburg Va., March 25th. The wound healed kindly, and patient is now (May 1st,) quite well., John Smith., R. B. BONTECOU,, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In charge.

Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number 20,713., John White, Private Co. A., 4th N.Y. Vols., age 19, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital, April 12th, 1865, with gunshot wound of the upper third of the left thigh. The ball entered posteriorly, passed upwards and inwards impinging against the femur, denuding a small portion of it of its periosteum, and lodged beneath the vastus externus muscle. The wound was received at Fort Fisher April 2nd, 1865, and was caused by the conoidal ball. The ball was extracted by Surg, R. B. Bontecou, April 17th 1865; the patient being under the influence of chloroform. The condition of the injured parts and the constitutional state of the patient at the time of the operation were poor. Pyaemic symptoms were developed April 19th, and the patient gradually sank, dying, April 27, 1865., John White., R. B. BONTECOU,, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In Charge.

Vols, age 18, admitted to Harewood U.S. General Hospital, April 19th 1865, from City Point, with shell wound of posterior, aspect of middle third of left thigh, received at Southside Rail Road Va., April 1st 1865. The treatment has been supporting with simple dressings to the wound. The progress has been favorable throughout. May 26, the patient is still in Hospital and doing well., R. B. BONTECOU,, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In charge.

[Loss of text due to trimming of the label.], Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number, 17,989., L. Westfall, Private, Co. M, 24th N.Y. Cav., aged 17, admitted September 9th, 1864, suffering from a large and irritated cer of internal side of lower third of left leg. Amputation of left leg middle third circular. Condition of injured part at time of operation, gangrenous. Tibea exposed for four and denuded of periosteum. Hemorrhage from posterior bial artery to amount of four ounces, patient extremely and emaciated. Result unfavorable. Sloughing of ges of the integument covering the bone. Died, Feb. 1865, from exhaustion. Operation performed by Surg. R. B. Bontecou, U.S.V., L. Westfall., R. B. BONTECOU,, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In charge.

Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital., Hospital Number 20.360., Lewis J. Matson, Private, Co. K, 2nd N.Y. Cav., aged 21, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 5th, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of left leg, injuring knee joint, the extent of injury unknown. Amputation of left knee joint, antero-posterior flaps, on the field, April 1st, 1865, operator unknown. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were tolerably good. The parts became subsequently gangrenous, but by timely application of escharotics, and by a supporting treatment throughout, the patient is now doing well and in a fair way of recovery., Lewis J. Thomas Miller, private, Co. G, 116th Pa. Vols, aged 18, admitted to Harewood U.S. Gen'l Hospital, August 15, 1864, convalescent from gunshot wound, left thigh, ball entering and fracturing femur at junction of middle and upper of thigh, past through exit inner side, near the tuberosity of ischium. Wounded, May 5, 1864, at the battle of Wilderness, Va. On admission to this hospital, the patient had so far recovered as to be able to be about on crutches. The patient, however, states, that at time of injury his constitutional state was very good, although wound very painful. Severe hemorrhage followed the injury [and] great tumefaction of the whole limb. The treatment consisted of placing the limb in a fracture-box counter extension, and supporting throughout. Limb shortened about [?] inches and three-fourths; patient otherwise in good condition and in a fair way of having a useful limb. and THOMAS MILLER.
