Abstract: The five powers involved in peace negotiations in Paris each stand on their tiny island in the sea. On the left George III says "I gave them independence." Next to him is a caricatured figure representing France, with the left arm cut off. "I must have Canada and Grenada for my Arm." Beside France a caricatured Dutchman bemoans the loss of his foot, and Spain in turn demands Gibraltar for his leg. On the far right America in the form of a female Indian announces "I have got all I wanted - Empire!." Above the scene Hibernia floats on a cloud saying "I deny all foreign jurisdictions..."
